Matthew Serfling is an Assistant Professor of Finance. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Arizona and undergraduate degree in Finance with a minor in Mathematics from North Dakota State University. His current research interests are in how corporate financial policy decisions are related to labor market frictions, product market competition, nonfinancial stakeholders, laws and regulations, and a firm’s governance environment. Matthew has research papers forthcoming in the Journal of Finance and Journal of Accounting and Economics. He has also published in the Journal of Corporate Finance. His research has been presented at several national and international conferences, including the American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, and American Accounting Association annual meetings.
